My name is Vanessa Caldwell and I will be your child’s 2nd grade teacher for the 2011-2012 school year. I am so glad your child will be part of my class family. My philosophy is simple. Children are first in education! (C.A.F.E.) Your child is about to embark on an exciting learning adventure and you can come along! I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself both personally and professionally.

I am a military brat who lived overseas most my life.  My husband and I moved back to the United States after the birth of our youngest child.  We are the proud parents of two wonderful, caring, funny children and a crazy, fluffy chow named Bruno. I enjoy learning, painting, reading, traveling with my family, and shopping. This is my third year as an educator in the public school system. However, I have work in the field of early childhood education for the past sixteen years. I believe every child should have the opportunity to learn in a positive, non-threatening environment so he or she may become a responsible, independent citizen. Your child’s self-esteem is very important to me. I will do my best to help them develop their skills and encourage them to feel good about themselves.

I am looking forward to a very exciting and productive year. I would like to thank you for the opportunity I have been given to work with your child.  You are the most important person in your child’s life and I know if we work together, your child will have a very successful year.
